THIRD GRADE HOMEWORK POLICY
Third graders have homework assigned four days each five day school week. The purpose of the homework is to reinforce classroom instruction and develop skills.
• Students are asked to read nightly for 30 minutes and complete a reading log.
• Spelling words are sent home each week.
• Students are responsible for specific, targeted math fact practice (5 minutes per night).
• A series of independent projects are assigned throughout the course of the year.
• Unfinished classroom work needs to be completed.
• At the teacher’s discretion, extra work (remedial or enrichment) may be assigned or parents may be directed towards websites that have additional practice.
